Brain Drill is an American technical death metal band formed in 2005 in California and was originally meant to be a side project by guitarist Dylan Ruskin, Marco Pitruzella on drums and vocalist Steve Rathjen. But Steve left and was replaced by Andre Cornejo to only come back eventually to stay as a permanent member. Later on the line up was completed with Jeff Hughell.
They got signed to Metal Blade Records and never left the record company and released just recently their third album called Quantum Catastrophe. And this is an album that you’ll either love or hate. The thing is Death metal in general is already fast shredding with lots of progressions, but this being a technical death metal band, they raise the bar (quite a bit actually).
You’ll find a ridiculous amount of musicianship on this album that takes no prisoners, but due to this, it sounds so chaotic that you can hardly follow any instrument or vocal and just get lost somewhere in between tracks? Good material, but not for everyone.

78/100
