Review: CD

One of the most important acts from Baltimore, maybe the most important one, are Misery Index, a leading force when it comes to ultra-violent and brutal Death Metal since the early nineties. And believe me, with Heirs To Thievery the band strengthens its position within the international scene.
For thirty four minutes only you can enjoy eleven ferocious and grinding Death-smashers, all of them performed with technical excellence. Of course it does not sound renewing, yet these sonic straight-forward basics in combination with experienced craftsmanship result in a collage of apocalyptic psychic and fleshly terror. More than before, the album consists of some slower parts, and the whole might sound less grinding too, yet the intensity does not fade away at all. Not every track catches, yet a few are more than interesting, like opener Embracing Extinction, the gargantuan title track, Plague Of Objects and so on.
Heirs To Thievery has become another memorable Misery Index-release, and it might be their most convincing to date.
