Band : Asteroid Already the shady cover artwork showing three fuzz heads above psychedelic woods let you guess that this will be a real stoner album. After a split-release with Blowback and a full-length, the Swedish retro rock disciples Asteroid are back with their second album with the rather appropriate title II. The 9 songs demonstrate concisely the band’s qualities. The musicianship is in-tact and all the elements of the classic stoner vibe are there, but there is typically nothing new here, and some of the songs can get whiny at times, regardless, it shows that their song writing skills within the catchy choruses keep their composition abilities up to par, and if you want to indulge in some fine stoner, this record is worth checking out, and I have to hand it to these guys, they have a grasp on what they are doing, but there still is room for growth. 80/100 Cosmicmasseur. |
