Band: Blaze Bayley English Heavy metal singer Blaze Bayley. For some unknown, to most known as a previous Iron Maiden and Wolfsbane vocalist. If you have a repertoire like that, you already made music history. But that isn’t always as good as it sounds, it means everybody is always looking over you shoulder criticizing every step and mistake you make, especially if you we’re in one of the world’s biggest and well known band like Iron Maiden. But I was really amazed upon hearing this album. I have to admit before I even heard any of this material and heard the dude played in Iron Maiden, I thought what a lot of people would think.
A copy cat. This is absolutely not the case. Although the opening song has some similarities, this album has so many diverse influences that should make some of the bigger bands out there scarred. For example one minute you have the typical NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) elements, next song it turns into trash metal and the next into a “The Misfit“influenced song. Although diverse, everything is well balanced and the album really keeps interesting until the end. This album made my day 92/100 Jeroen. |
