Band : Iron Mask Iron Mask, on their latest album, produce a good quality power metal. I must admit I'd never before heard of this band, but this seems to be their third album already. Judging from the cover I thought this was going to be some sort of concept album, but it isn't. There is however some theme that frequently pops up, and that's an emotional theme. This is due to the passing away of Dushan Petrossi's mother I suppose. From the first song on I was pleasantly surprised at how good they are. Excellent musicianship, and although I've no idea who the singer is - he goes around under the monicker of "Valhalla Jnr" I'd say he does a very fine job. To top it of, Oliver Hartmann contributes to the backing vocals, as well as taking on the lead vocals on "Dreams", which happens to be one of the best tracks on the album (personal opinion). Fans of Yngwie Malmsteen or At Vance, but equally Maiden fans might want to give this a try. 90/100 Erik Morren. |
