The Graviators is a Swedish band blending doom and stoner rock. Being pretty competent at playing both styles separately, as they do on "Mountain man” and "Juggernaut", respectively, they also do a decent job of combining them, see "Shapes of babylon" with fantastic ‘screaming for vengeance’- axe work. With vintage material such as the Pentagram reminiscent “She’s a witchand “Come to the sabbath”.”, the sleaze driven "Roller”,  the aggressive "Saturnus 84” and the haunting "Planet gone” their music offers no synths, no overzealous improvisations, no layered production and no bullshit; where the emphasis is focused on a tight melodious groove that ponders upon the spontaneous energy that is brought forth with the songs that these four guys bring to the table.  So, it is not in the originality stakes that The Graviators will succeed; it is the skillful way they have written, recorded and produced this set of songs that gives them a little of that crucial edge.

So, fans of Witchcraft,  Burning Saviours, Valkyrie and of course Black Sabbath, you might want to check out this debut by The Graviators.
