Band : The Resurrection Sorrow Reminiscent of a more sludge-oriented Type O Negative-meets-Sixty Watt Shaman-meets-C.O.C., the five-piece of the USA deliver their blood boiling rock soaked in whiskey to the fullest extent... Massive guitar walls, pounding drumming and vocals abounding in power make this album more than worth listening. While I am no expert in this genre, I can tell that these boys have their shit together. A few songs, namely “Shadow of a vampire”, “Unholy divine” and “Supernatural suffocation ” all feature bluesy mammoth riffs akin to High On Fire and let's face it, you can never go wrong with that formula. Changing the tempo up a bit, “Soul of the soulless” and “Bloodshot eyes n’ soul” is sure to make your head rattle. Basically, The Resurrection Sorrow play swinging sludge with a gritty doom/stoner edge. Nothing more nothing less. 80/100 Cosmicmasseur. |
