Out of Los Angeles, USA rolls on Yidhra and executes this slab of dark yet melodic and oh-so catchy doom metal of the finest order. The incredible raw production manages to capture the spirit of the eighties whilst the music heads for Saint Vitus/ Frost/ Black Flag (especially the b-side of My War) revisited vibe, by way of primitive doom metal tendencies. The riffs are thick, the vocals are abrasive and the pounding rhythm section is tight throughout the debut EP.

The mid-tempo heavy-weighters "The lament of longinus” and “Conquest for nova” are highlighted by great guitar work and thunderous march drumming, a devastating combination of power and song writing. The heavy spooky epic “Ancient ones” is an instant classic, 24-carat of doom, showcasing the superb very fat low sound and increases the heaviness factor to Saint Vitus-levels. The vocalist does an excellent job and his voice is perfect for their sound. With a sound that is both raw but deep, "Witch queen” is packed with up-tempo Sabbath/ mammoth Electric Wizard variations churning out thickly down-tuned guitar melodies that glide lava-like under ferocious vocals, layered growls that seem to spit and vaporize in the air.

I can say with conviction that this is the most promising doom band I have heard last year. So, I am eagerly waiting to see where the band takes its music in the next little while. I highly recommend that fans of doom metal check this out.
