Band : Scorpions Do The Scorpions still need an introduction? The hardrockers from Hannover, Germany, are already present in the rock business since 1965, so for 45 impressive years, during which they sold over 100 million albums. But recently, the legendary hard rock band around guitar player Rudolf Schenker and singer Klaus Meine announced that they will be retiring in 2013. Before that final farewell, The Scorpions will undertake a worldwide tour to say goodbye to their fans on all five continents. And that’s not all, because The Scorpions have also released a brand new album, their 17th studio album, “Sting In The Tail”, which comes three years after the previous album, “Humanity: Hour 1”. The band members themselves see “Sting In The Tail” as a return to the classic hard rock sound of albums like for instance “Love At First Sting” (1984), which included the mega hits “Rock You Like A Hurricane” and “Still Loving You”. Who am I to disagree with that? All the typical Scorpions-ingredients are present on “Sting In The Tail”: easy listening hard rock, including romantic rock ballads, with sharp guitar duels between Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs, dramatic power singing from Klaus Meine and anthemic sing-along choruses to raise your fist in the air. “Sting In The Tail” contains 12 songs and has a playing time of 48 minutes.
