Steelwing is a Swedish heavy metal band that formed in 2009 with a line up of Riley (vocals), Skürk (bass), Oskar Astedt (drums) Robby Rockbag and Alex Vega (guitars and backing vocals). Your typical kind of guys just playing and having fun.
The thing that bothers me most about these guys is they have no website (other than myspace) where I can find some info on these guys. This is a bad habit a lot of bands have these days, but with these guys I really couldn’t appreciate it because this album has some brilliant pieces on it.
The guys start with a combination of Iron Maiden (especially the vocals) and Judas Priest (especially instrument wise) without making it sound as a rip of, they seem to exceed in keeping it interesting until the half of the album. From there, it kind of changes into a more hard rock vibe and a lot of the songs lose a bit of their power due to this. So it’s a half brilliant and half “less brilliant” album. Still it doesn’t have the feeling that it was rushed of half complete.

87/100
