Disturbed is a metal/hard rock band from Chigaco, and was formed on October 24, 1995 when musicians Dan Donegan, Steve Kmak (who later on left) and Mike Wengren played together in a band called Brawl. But that project went downhill and that’s when they hired David Draiman to complete the line up as their singer after answering an advertisement for the opening.

And for some reason, the guys connected and well, the result can still be seen to this day. Disturbed started to record several demos but did not play in live shows. The band eventually signed with “Giant Records”. In 2000, the band released its debut album, titled The Sickness, which launched the band into stardom and their success keeps on going even after al those years and albums.

Even now, their fifth album (out now) was highly anticipated by the fans. For those who never head of them, the band brings down tuned guitar metal/hard rock with cryptic lyrics and lyrical themes range from the ideology of Heaven and hell, war, pollution, drugs and alcohol, death and so on…. This isn’t that unusual in the metal genre, but the band knows how to bring it with deep tones, hard and moody riffs and passionate vocals. Now on this record the band used that same winning formula as on previous records, so this is a solid record with fine songs, but to be honest it brings nothing new, original and refreshing, but rather gives the feeling that this is almost the same as the previous record. So nothing new, but nothing bad about this album. It’s definitely worth checking out but keep in mind that it’s nothing new.
