Essentially what you get with S.N.O. (Stonewall Noise Orchestra) is another entry into the Scandinavian world of stoner rock that is already populated by the likes of Mustash, Sweatmaster, Mangrove, Plutonium Orange and Brainpolice.

While fanatics of that particular little niche might be the ones to get the biggest kick out of S.N.O. , the overall unoriginality of the album is very un-filling. It is not like I haven't heard this sort of heavy, but pure riffing, uninspiring Ozzy-like vocals, “slaves and bulldozers” tempos and material before elsewhere. Aside from the lack-lustre vocalist, the other band members perform their jobs effectively and with conviction. You can't fault the band for lack of enthusiasm or lousy production as it contains quality on both counts. But ultimately this style is limiting and I would hope this Swedish orchestra would make some attempt in the future to stand apart from their benefactors.

Whatever points of criticism, Sweet Mississippi Deal is generally an album that is pleasantly uncomplicated and well-produced. Extra credit for the amusing artwork.
