"From The Vault" is a collection of songs that were originally recorded between 1986 and 1999, and that have now been digitally remastered by Jeff Silverman.
Now I suppose for most AOR fans Rick Springfield does not need an introduction.  After all he's been around for quite some time.  To younger people however, especially over here in Europe, his name might not ring a bell, and even the "slightly" older rockers like me might not know him, except maybe for those who followed the soap "General Hospital" in which he started playing in 1981.
Those of you who do not know Rick Springfield at all, here's a short resume of what's on this CD.

Expect no roaring rock songs.  Instead these are songs that in most cases you'd be instantly singing along with.  Decent, well crafted songs, not too complex, not too simple, nothing that lingers in your ears for days on end, but also the kind of songs that you'd immediately recognize upon hearing them again.
The working relation between Rick and Jeff Silverman started way back in the late seventies, and has since then continued.  Jeff being a veteran producer, as well as engineer, songwriter, musician and singer, so it's not a coincidence Jeff was a major part for this album.
I like me you do know Rick Springfield you know what you'll get if you buy this album.  Some very well known songs, but played in a way you had not heard before.  This is a CD you put on, while lazing around in the sun, with a nice long-drink or cocktail to drink.

75/100
