Band : Joey Summer With a list of people containing amongst others Göran Edman (Street Talk, Ynqwie Malmsteen) Michael Bormann, Frederik Bergh (Street Talk, Bloodbound) and others I was curious what impression this album would make. But let's start with some biographic information. Joey hails from Brazil, and was interested in music from very early on. He formed his first band together with his brother at the age of 14. He then joined rock group Karma, and the AOR band Arena. He previously already released another solo album Nascer which was recorded in his mother tongue Portuguese. Musically this harks back to the days of the arena rock. Think Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Europe, The Scorpions, Def Leppard... The album has a nice balance between rockers and ballads. The album does not deliver something new, you've all heard it done before, but it's nice and crisp. As a matter of fact I'd place it on the same level as some other previous Brazilian releases like Auras, N.O.W. it's that good. 90/100 Erik Morren. |
