Band: Minuetum Minuetum is the power metal band formed in 2007 when Dimitris Melidis (keyboards) presented his songs to a friend of him called Dimitris Zacharopoulos (vocals) in Athens/Greece. Zacharopoulos soon came up with lyrics on the songs written by Melidis and the two of them soon approached some talented new musicians to record some demos. Two demos were recorded including the first typical characteristics of the band. Songs "Ghost King", "Into the Night", "Key to Glory", "Finally Free" and "Hero Divine" included in these demos were recorded with different line-ups during 2007 and 2008. Then the duet decided that they wanted a more solid band and went to go on with new musicians After various line up changes, the band wand into the studio In the summer of 2009. And now in 2010 the band delivers a very strange album. Sound and style wise, the band reminds me of Dragonforce (very technical, but not that fast) what isn’t a bad thing. The downside is that the production level is very poorly, you can barely hear the vocals coming trough the rest of the instruments. But so bad that you can’t even make up in what language the vocals are. For a band that has been in the studio for so long, they definitely could have done a lot better. 62/100 Jeroen. |
