Band: Son of Aurelius In 2009 local Santa Cruz musicians came together for a project that included with Josh Miller, guitarist Cary Geare, and a rhythm section made up of drummer Spencer Edwards and Berklee trained bassist Max Zigman. The recording delivered a combination of technical progression, brutal death, and accents of melody. With some recorded material under their belt the guys added the final piece to their line up, former Animosity guitarist Chase Fraser. He already had experienced with album releases and relentless touring around the earth throughout his time in other bands.
With Chase on board the line up was now complete and the band was ready to record a full-length album. The band knew they wanted to write a combination of heavy metal and extreme death. The new album titled The Farthest Reaches is already some time for sale and the guys deliver what they promised. Its brutal death metal combined with technical theory (and skills) and melodies here and there. Now it may be a bit overwhelming to some people, in a way that there is so much going on that you can’t follow the bigger picture or that it drives you crazy. This is one must have killer album of a band that will make its mark in this genre . 96/100 Jeroen. |
