Epitaph Records is a Hollywood , California U.S.A based independent record label owned by Brett Gurewitz (Bad Religion guitarist). The label was originally "just a logo and a P.O. box" created in the 1980s for the purpose of selling Bad Religion records, but has evolved into a large record company. To name some of the bands under their care are: Parkway Drive, New Found Glory, Alkaline Trio, Every Time I die,… So the are more of a punk and rock record company.

As a record company, you’re always looking for new ways to promote your bands and as it is a hype this days, Epitaph couldn’t resist doing the same thing with this album which covers 14 songs from 14 different bands. So if you like this genre of music you’ll definitely will find something you like on this album and you’ll probably learn some other great bands you probably never listened to before.

Question is will this sell? A lot of record companies are doing this way of advertising/ selling already for a while, and will you pay for bands you maybe don’t know?
