Review: CD

What the American formation Bleeding Through did with their 2008 recording Declaration was just remarkable (sweetly written review still available on this wonderful site, posted on 31/10/2008). No doubt, this album was the best thing the band ever did, and at the same time it was the best thing the members ever did, knowing that they are / were also involved with renowned bands and projects as Throwdown or Cast In Stone amongst others).

Their self-titled sixth full-length goes on in that very same vein. After a short atmospheric intro (A Resurrection), the band combines different extreme musical styles into a splendid cohesive package. Technical and neo-progressive Metal(core), groovy Hardcore, fast Thrash / Death Metal and symphonic Black Metal, all united into an unholy marriage, interspersed with lots of tempo-changes, sublime keyboards, used in a rather original, unique way (!), a wide vocal scala (even the clean and harmonious vocals are of a high quality), etc, that’s what Bleeding Through has to offer.

The passionate tracks consist of many tempo-changes (among which some blasting explosions, as well as doomy passages) and some intelligent breaks, and the whole comes with a monstrous killer-sound.

91/100
