Triumph ?  Isn't that a famous brand of women underwear.  Yes indeed, but besides that it's also the name of a famous Canadian hard rock band that achieved great successes in the seventies/eighthies.

Although at that time in my home city of Louvain there were a lot of record shops , it wasn't always as easy to find your hard rock or heavy metal albums.  Of course nowadays it's even harder, there being fewer independent shops and more people downloading their music or buying it from internet; but my greatest delight in my younger years was driving to town on my bike on wednesday afternoon, and going from record shop to record shop to find out what was new that week.

It is by pure coincidence that in that way I stumpbled upon a Triumph album "Allied forces" in the hard rock/metal section of one of those stores.  At that time I was still a novice in the hard rock/heavy metal genre, being converted to the true faith only a year or so before.  Which means I didn't know the band and asked the shop owner if I could listen to the album.
While listening to the album, I started reading the sleave and the information on it.  Turns out this was only a 3-man band, but boy could they play a tune.  Imagine this played live in a stadium.

This greatest hit remix contains 14 tracks, one of which is Triumph's version of a classic Nazareth hitsingle "Love Hurts", track that will also become the new Triumph single.
For a nostalgic like me, who's still got all his old records, but simply doesn't find the time anymore to listen to them it's good news this "greatest hits" came out.  I played it over and over again.  Just listen to "Magic Power", "Allied Forces", or any one of the other songs, be it un up tempo rock song, or a ballad, they're all just fabulous.
