CD REVIEW La Famiglia Superstar

Band : La Famiglia Superstar
Album title : La Famiglia Superstar
Label : Heart Of Steel Records - Connecting Music

Release Date : 23/07/2010
Release : CD

You might be misled by the group name, and think this is some second rate Italian cover band, but this is not the case.  Instead the members of this band are almost all American, and have proven themselvers over and over again in different other bands.  On vocals you find Terry Ilous, known from XYZ, on bass you find Mark Mendoza, known from his work with Blue Murder and Thin Lizzy.  The band is completed by Steve Saluto, a studio musician of Italian origin, and by English drummer Atma Anur, also a studio musician.

Now is this a "super" CD?  If you like your rock with a lot of funky elements in it, it sure is.  If however you're not that much into the funky stuff, you might think twice, before buying this CD.

This is however ideal music for cruising around, without a real purpose, just enjoying the weather, the sunshine, the pretty girls (or boys).  A CD to play while sitting outside, reading a nice book, and in the mean time drinking a good cocktail or in my case rather an ice cold beer.
Musically it al fits very snugly, the only minor point being the Whitesnake cover "Here I Go Again". The original stands head and shoulders above this cover.
