I started reading the info that accompanied this CD.  When I found out that this was a female fronted band I feared this might be the umpteenth Gothic band, but this turned out as something completely different.
Instead of a Gothic band  Magica  sounds more like a melodic power metal band.  Hailing from Romania of all places, this is already their fifth release.   Yet I'd never heard of them before.

Ana Mladinovici seems to have had a classical training, and if I may believe what I've read about their previous albums is true, then either she has greatly improved, or the production was done in such a way that her vocals seem to fit the songs perfectly.  On top of that the musicians must be very skilled.  Most of the songs are very fast.

It's not easy to find another band they can be compared with, perhaps the band who most closest is Nightwish.
A nice surprise for me, I'll be watching out for more work by this band.
