Review: CD
Soul Demise is a German band that exists since the first half of the nineties. As from this century on, the band gathered a fan-base outside its home country too, thanks to the release of some well-written and professionally performed albums, among which last year’s Acts Of Hate, their Remission-debut. Of course, touring in support of Napalm Death, Vader, Krisiun, Dismember or Immolation will have been of help too.
The band’s style has always been characterised by combining both German and Swedish-oriented Thrash / Death Metal with sort of an own approach, yet unfortunately I do detest the enormous lack of originality, or better: the predictable evidence did disappoint me time after time. It was the case in the past and, it’s sad, yet it’s still the case. In contradiction to this, the fabulous and mature performance makes it all right. The nice balance between aggression and melody (rage contra musikkk), and the symbiosis of traditional and modern elements, come with a clean yet heavy production.
But as mentioned before: the complete lack of originality is painful in this band’s case, and therefore Sindustry cannot please me that much (again), in spite of the skilled performance.
For fans of technical Thrash / Death / Gothenburg Metal.
70/100
