Pigskin was formed in 1997 in Switzerland and used to play something between Hardcore and Crossover. But later on the mixed elements like thrash metal and others that made it turn out as melodic death metal. The band has been around for some time now and has already released 2 albums and has been the support act for bands like Soulfly, Testament and many others.

Their new album The Never Ending Black was produced in Thunderfart Studio in Siebnen. The mix and mastering was given again in the hands of V.O. Pulver of Little Creek Studio in Gelterkinden. The band/albums brings solid melodic trash metal or however you want to call it. Solid, honest and good but nothing special. The thing that is most noticeable is that the overall sound on the dull side is, like you covered up the speaker of your stereo. The only thing that is remarkable is the bands name that doesn’t really stand for the genre they play.

In the end their music is not bad but definitely nothing groundbreaking.

52/100
