Band: Suicidal Angels Thrash Metal is not necessarily the number-one Metal-style Greece is known for. Black and Death Metal, electronized or industrialised Metal, all right, yet Thrash Metal??? However, there are a few Greek bands that do (or at least ‘did’) rather well (think Released Anger/ Crucifier/ Tornado, Henosis, Despise, Acid Death, Drunkard, Infernal Wrath, Koronzon etc), yet most of them perform a mixture of Death Metal and/ or Black Metal with Thrash Metal – not the kind Suicidal Angels are known for. Last year’s Sanctify The Darkness was, without any doubt, their strongest album to date, so that’s why the international press and audience did look forward to undergo this newest full length. I sort of did too… And indeed, these forty minutes won’t disappoint any fan. Don’t expect an original band – Suicidal Angels still bring rather evident, predictable material, like they did in the past. No problem, because the quality: nizzz! Some might consider this band a cheap copycat, others will praise their expression of the old school – that’s up to you. But the least I can say is: these guys know how to perform aggressive Retro-Thrash. Interfaces: everything between Sodom, Destruction, Kreator, Razor, Slayer, Vio-Lence, Dark Angel or fellow countrymen Released Anger. Think before listening. Listen before buying. Buy before dying too? 80/100 Ivan Tibos. |
