Band: Times of Grace Times of Grace is an American metal core band/duo that was formed in 2008 in Massachusetts. The group consists of Jesse Leach (former Killswitch Engage) and Adam Dutkiewicz (present Killswitch Engage). Originally Killswitch Engage splitted due to some arguments and went on with Howard Jones. But a couple of years ago when Roadrunner Records aged 25 years and wanted to do their “All Star sessions” project, the guys got in touch again and shattered all fights. But it wasn’t until Adam had to go to the hospital due to his back that these two guys started working together. While being in the hospital, Adam started writing music and asked Jesse’s help about writing lyrics and recording vocals.
The ball started rolling and an album was planned. However, the group remained largely inactive until 2010, when they released the single "Strength in Numbers" and their debut album in 2011.
The thing you probably all want to know is, yes it does sound like old Killswitch Engage. Not 100%, but is has the same style of music genre, the same kind of melodies, solos, build ups, grunt and clean vocals… It has everything to make good music. And that’s what it is. But to be honest it didn’t convinced me. Although everything works, it seemed like upon hearing the album, it couldn’t keep my attention and I found myself doing other stuff than listening actively to it. 83/100 Jeroen. |
