Zombie Driftwood is a low budget movie which was filmed in the Cayman Islands in June 2010. The story starts when 3 world-weary drinkers and two young holidaymakers hanging out in the Driftwood Bar discover that a cruise ship which has disappeared in the Bermuda triangle returned just off the coast of Grand Cayman. The movie is supposed to be funny so the directors used metal tunes as soundtracks. I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I can’t definitely imagine how metal would make it funnier. Anyway the music on this record can be taken very serious in a good way.

16 songs from 16 different artists fill up the slots, and bands like Emperor, Falter, Illuminate and many more can be found on int. And although variated in artists, I feels like there is a lot of black metal on this record. Its fun due to the diversity, but can be more fun if you actually have seen the movie (but that is not obligated). In the end it are 16 songs that have a certain atmosphere going on and can make you imagine a horde of zombies going after fleeing, scared and helpless people what always is fun to watch (especially when you love very wrong B-movies like me).

87/100
