Band : Vision Although this record is 25 years old, it still sounds surprisingly fresh. They sound like a mix between Kansas with a good dose of Lynyrd Skynyrd or Molly Hatchet thrown in, and maybe a bit of Asia as well.. The reminiscence to Lynyrd Skynyrd shouldn’t surprise you, as both Leon Wilkeson (bass) and Billy Powell were in the band. The style of Vision is logically rather southern rock influenced, but with a good dose of progressive rock as well. This 1985 release contains five tracks from their 1984 debut album, but completely re-recorded, and five new songs. I had not heard this album ever before, and I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a shame really that this album as been out of print for so long, because this is great stuff. The keyboards are one of the elements that struck me most, together with the stunning vocal performance of Rocco Marshall make this a cracking good album. 90/100 Erik Morren. |
