Days Of Anger are a Swedish trio with (former / current / session) members of e.g. Scaar, Griffen and Torch. The band was formed last year and the trio (Alex Jonsson-v,b; Alf Johansson-g; and Kristian Huotari-d) soon could sign to mega-label Massacre Records. They entered the Skjulsta Studio and had their debut mixed and mastered by Pelle Saether at Studio Underground in Västerås (October Tide, Fleshcrawl, Carnal Forge a.o.).
Death Path (45:36) isn’t a bad debut, but it is oh so predictable. Damn, this kind of ‘universal’ Thrash is so overdone lately, and therefore a band needs to be creative or at least perfectly skilled to exceed the masses. Unfortunately it isn’t the case with Days Of Anger. The combination of slightly Bay Area-influenced Thrash with elements from Trans-European Old School Thrash, Death-laden Metal, sleazy Death Rock / Heavy Metal and groovy Hardcore, gets performed with a professional attitude, and the sound is more than all right, but the compositions are so uninspired; sad…

65/100
