Label : Edel – V2 Records

Release Date : 07/03/2011

I wonder why this album was released.  After all Pat Travers made his name during the late seventies, early eighties, so  will be known by people who are at least 40 years old.  Younger generations might even have never heard of him.  Also because in the mid eighties he completely disappeared from the spotlights, to make a comeback in 1990.

For those of you who’ve never before heard of the man, Pat Travers is a Canadian born guitarist, whose music you can best describe as a mix between blues and hard rock.  Listening to this live concert recorded in 1990 at the Diamond Club brings back fond memories from that time.  After all do not forget that Pat  is a great guitar player, even when in his heydays he faced very stiff competition by Frank Marino, a fellow Canadian.
There’s also a DVD version of this album available for those of you who’d like to watch the show as well as listen to it.
Since Pat has more or less disappeared into oblivion, more so in our countries than in USA/Canada, I wonder if sales of this CD will cover the costs. Which is a bit sad, since he delivers a good performance here.
