Selling The Drama was founded in 2003 by Erwin Pfeiffer (vocals) and Phil Watkins (guitar). After some line up changes in 2006, they founded permanent drummer in Lukas Kager and
a new bass player in Stefan Hörersdorfer with whom they recorded the album “beyond examination” in their home studio. Also a talented sound engineer Stefan did the mixing.
This album was mastered by Martin Scheer and contains A mixture from various styles of metal music like groove and trash metal. But the best way to describe this music is that it sounds like Pantera. Especially the later years, where there were less “southern rock” elements and played more of a brutal kind of metal, but you can find squeals and other guitar effects on this record
Similar yes, but a cheap rip off? Definitely not. Although there are a lot of similar, it still feels like original, giving those similarities more of a tribute feeling. This kind of music is something everyone can and will enjoy. Brutal, melodic, grooves,…everything metal should sound and be like. There is a small downside to this masterpiece. However fantastic it might be, some of the songs lack a bit of x-factor that make you recognize them and stand out from others, it lacks that thing that makes it sound epic and a classic.

94/100
