When Black Stone Cherry released their First album back in 2006 we where delighted. Smoking hot southern rock filled hard rock along with some nice blues influences. It was a joy to listen to that cd. The sound was just right. Enough to get the old school music lovers going and fresh enough to get the new kids in line. Another 2 years later the had their second album rerady that went by the name ‘Folklore And Superstition’ and it proved Black Stone Cherry was not a one hit wonder. By all means they had improved their sound and also live they build quite a reputation. Today they serve us record number 3 and once again it’s a gem. Singer and guitarist Chris Robertson and his friends managed to find the perfect balance to please the yong and more mature crowd. It kicks off with the swinging and hard hitting ‘White Trash Millionaire’ and does not let go until you start shaking like a motherfucker. Try to keep still on tracks like ‘blame It On The Boom Boom’. You’ll fail because it’s catchy as hell. Same story with ‘Let Me See You Shake’ a track that makes sure you’ll shout the title out loud every time a nice looking girl walks by. Besides all this fun they also have place for more serious songs like ‘Such A Shame’ witch proves this band isn’t no AC/DC clone like some think. This is a band full of musicians hat know what they are doing. Later on this year they’ll be hitting the road with Alter Bridge, both in the US and Europe. A perfect combination that will hopefully make sure Black Stone Chary gets through to a bigger audience because they deserve it. Check it out.
