For All We Know is a project by Dutch guitarist Ruud Jolie. The man himself is mostly known as the guitar player from goth/metal band Within Temptation. He has recorded a lot of songs and albums with other artists, but the urge to write and record his own material has always been present.
So for the last 4 years he has been working on this music both when he was on the road with various bands (Within Temptation, Agua de Annique, Damian Wilson Band, and many more) and in his own studio. And being a man with so much experience, knowledge and friends, it didn’t take him long to find some people to help him out. Wudstik, Léo Margarit, Thijs Schrijnemakers, Marco Kuypers and Kristoffer Gildenlöw completed his line up. But it doesn’t end there, there are over 8guest artists on this one.
The album (witch Ruud self produced) contains 12 original songs that range from very atmospheric and dreamily acoustic to some more progressive metal (but still very soft) riffs. The best thing about this record is the diversity that you get trough all of the artists and guest artists. But make no mistake, this is more of a easy listening record you can put on as back ground music. Although lots of different elements due to the all those artists, sound wise there isn’t lots of variation, so when you don’t keep your head at it, you get lost in all the tracks and it may become a bit boring.
