The name Guano Apes was familiar to me, but I’d never ever heard one of their songs.  So I didn’t know what music I was in for, but I thought, hey, if I’m to write a review for Concrete Web at least it must be rock

And rock it is, but you cannot categorize this under hard rock nor AOR rock.  This is just modern day rock,   rather think Garbage, or Gwen Stefani, but with a bit harder guitars.  Since I don’t know any of their previous work I cannot compare, but although this still rocks a bit, it’s more something fans of Avril Lavigne and consorts might like.  It stings a few times, but it never hits you full blow.
Since this is their comeback album after a few years absence from the scene I wonder if it had not been better if they kept silent for a while longer, and then come back with a really hard-hitting album.
