A Primitive Evolution is an alternative rock group with its home base in Canada (Toronto to be specific). The band was formed in the fall of 2007 and consists of Brett Carruthers, Stephany Seki, Dimitri Anastasakisand Stu Dead. The band got “bigger” but it wasn’t until the spring of 2009 when the band founded a music festival witch paved the way for more to come.
Later on that year, the band’s self-produced debut video for “Death on Wheels”, caught the attention of the production crew for the vampire musical movie “Suck” (yes a vampire musical comedy movie). So it may have been that you have heard this band if you watched that “movie”. For those who haven’t (lucky you), A prime Evolution is an alternative rock band that uses lots of samples and electronic elements (think of muse, but more rock and less melodic).
The album itself is good for a debut album (witch it is) but overall isn’t something special. However I must say that one of their songs did really stayed with me. “Beyond True”, a song with an upbeat tempo drum and a raw rock guitar line that shows that rock doesn’t have to be extremely technical but that simplicity works. Its fun, easy going and pure rock at its best.
