Sparzana is a Swedish rock band that probably 9 out of 10 of you never heard of (except when you live in Sweden or Finland). Although not popular (again except when you live in Sweden or Finland) also due to the fact that they haven’t put out a lot of information on the world wide web about their band (witch is annoying), the band has been around for a serious period of time and the lads have released several albums.
Now with their latest album called Folie à Cinq they seek to gain popularity outside those 2 countries. This record has the potential to be their ticket to the rest of Europe and who knows even more parts of the world.
The album can simply be described in a few praising words. Being hard (for rock), melodic and just damn good. The record has lots of variety on it and as the album progresses, you feel like the constantly switch either their influences or their style. To explain it more simply and clearly, one moment they sound like bands in the genre of Disturbed, next moment they sound more groovy like a softer and more “rockish” version of Pantera or Spineshank,. Surely a strange combination, but for some reason everything drops in place on this record. Now the only downside is that the record only last for a good 36 minutes what simply is to short for modern day standers and definitely when it’s a kick ass album like this
97/100
