CD REVIEW Lechery

Band : Lechery
Album title : In Fire
Label : Metal Heaven
Distributor : Rough Trade Benelux
Release Date : 26/08/2011
Release : CD

The artwork of this CD promised the worst, but the album itself was a lot better.  OK, they’ve not created something original, but are firmly anchored in eighties style hard rock/heavy metal, and that’s what they bring us.  As a matter of fact this CD could just as easily have been released 20 years ago, except for the mixing/production which of course reflects modern standards.

As a matter of fact I find that the overall sound of the album tends more towards the hard rock genre than towards the heavy metal genre.  These guys might try to sound very hard, and at times they do, but my general opinion is that even those of you who prefer hard rock might like this album.
The weak point of this album/band are however the lyrics.  It’s all very simple, and the themes they chose to write songs about have also been ruminated endlessly over the years.  And the choruses are also of a very simple structure.

It’s not a bad album, that’s not what you gonna hear me say, but it’s a thirteen in a dozen album.

65/100
