The Revolution Continues, or just shorter TRC, is a British hardcore band, which can be heard very clearly. Not only musically, but also vocally, as you can clearly hear the Cockney accent of the singer.
Although TRC claims to be a 100% hardcore band and as they are often compared to the Deez Nuts of the UK, you can still find a real metal touch on their latest release, called Bright Lights. Especially in the first song, H.A.T.E.R.S, this influence can definitely be heard.
The contract between the different songs on Bright Lights is quite remarkable: whereas songs like Define Cocky, Blame It On Vegas and Go Hard Or Go Home are rather humorous, songs such as Temptation are way more serious and they seem very honest. This small adult touch proves that TRC is not all about the easy breakdowns and sing-a-long parts. This is one of the reasons why metal heads could also appreciate this album.
Of course the most outstanding track on this album is London's Great Story. The great contrast between hardcore, metal and even rap has been combined in a genius way. Perhaps it's because I've already seen the video to this song that I really like this song, but it definitely has some kind of catchiness to it.
TRC might stand for The Revolution Continues, but with this new record, it's definitely an attempt to make you join their army and to continue their very own revolution.
