Band : Uriah Heep As you already might know I’m not that big a fan of live albums. This album is a registration from a gig in 2009, which was the first time in their 4 decennia long career that Uriah Heep played in Armenia. Since this gig was from before the release of ‘Into The Wild’ it features, besides the classic songs like ‘Easy Livin’ and ‘July Morning’ a lot of tracks of it’s predecessor ‘Wake The Sleeper’. It is obvious that the iron curtain is long gone, since even the Armenian public knows the Heep classics nowadays. While the band seems in great shape, it takes a bit of convincing for the public to get in the right mood, but once they’re launched… The classic songs still sound as good as they did back when they were released, and vocalist Bernie Shaw still sings as good as ever. But the newer songs also show that this band has not lost any of it’s energy, despite their long career. 85/100 Erik Morren. |
