Hailing from London, Ontario, this five-piece calling themselves “Baptized In Blood” who released their debut album (digitally) under guidance of Dave Mustaine (Megadeth). The thing about this album is, that it they do it different than other bands, here the guys have chosen to go for short but powerful instead of 30 minutes solos/shredding (what is a nice change). To give you an idea about this, the album clocks in a mere 48 minutes and the longest song on it is 5 minutes and 20 seconds long.
And of course Dave’s touch is highly noticeable on the record. You’ll immediately recognize Megadeth elements in the sound and the way the guys play solos, but to be honest on some songs you can recognize a pinch of ”Dragon Force’shappy melodies” elements. So definitely a good thing, but makes me wonder how the band would sound originally. The songs themselves (apart from the sound) sound different and totally different from each other.
A perfect combination between old (Dave’s influences) and new, combining the best of both on this record. Killer and almost epic.
96/100
