Band : Face Tomorrow Okay, “Fast” Tony (gotta make 25 reviews in only 6 days' time), part I-don't-know-anymore (forced quick review). Founded in 1997, Dutch (Emo-tional) Indie Rock/ Post-Hardcore act Face Tomorrow has been around since 1997. Following the 1998 demo Ride Like A Girl, they released their first EP Live The Dream in 2001, and were catapulted to the forefront of the Dutch underground scene with their 2002 full-length debut For Who You Are. Ensuing full-lengths came in 2004 (The Closer You Get) and 2008 (In The Dark, released through quality label Excelsior Recordings). In between, there was a split 7-inch with Lewesit (2001), the vinyl releases of the albums, several singles, and a participation to a 2006 The Apers tribute album to which the likes of Peter Pan Speedrock, Travoltas, El Pino & the Volunteers, and others also contributed (I think I even reviewed that album back when it was released). On the live front the band toured through Holland (including important festivals such as Lowlands and Paaspop), Germany, Belgium (also playing at Groezrockand Pukkelpop), the UK, Denmark, France, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, the Czech Republic, and even the USA. Their music even got the band onto music TV channels Kerrang TV, MTV2, Jim TV and TMF Belgium. The band's current line-up consists of lead singer Jelle Schrooten, guitarists Aart Steekelenburg and Ralf Mastwijk (last addition to the line-up, entering the fold in early 2010), bassist Tijs Hop, and drummer Sjoerd van der Knoop. Stylistically, the band is influenced on the one side by Emo mainstays Sunny Day Real Estate, Quicksand and At The Drive In, and on the other side by the likes of Deftones, Radiohead (oh yeah...check the great song “Snakes & Ladders on this album), Muse, and Foo Fighters...all of which you'll feel floating through the band's music at one time or another.
