Stoner rock band Barn Burner once again is back, and have learned their lessons from their first album witch didn’t got the attention it deserved due to making music we already heard before and probably better. But now their back and taken a step toward the right direction. Their latest release, a second full-length record, called “Bangers II: Scum of the Earth”, saw Barn Burner teaming up with producer/engineer Adrian Popovich once again.
This time however the album has much more to offer than your typical stoner rock banc/record. The band incorporated not only elements from the punk genre, you can notice that they must have went to a Mastodon concert, because their record sounds like they want to be more like them (musically).
Don’t go thinking they became a copy, Mastodon can best be described as progressive and focused on techniques, but Barn Burner likes to keep it raw and chaotic (the punk elements). So they still are original in some way, witch is good, but after listening 5 or 6 songs the chaotic part of their music becomes a bit annoying and overwhelming. Other then that, this is good music, better than it used to be. Instrumentally, song wise, sound wise and so on is only made at a good production level.
