If you’re a fan of Viking/pagan metal, then this album might be something for you.  As I’m not really into that genre, and have never been, I’ve not got much other bands/material I can compare this with.

What must be said is that the artwork by André Kosslick is fantastic.
Now to the music itself.  If you take into account that Bloodshed Walhalla is not really a band, but rather a one man project by Italian multi-instrumentalist Drakhen, which is the artist name for Mario di Pede you’ve got to admit that the man must have talent.  The songs might not be very original, but they’re not bad either.  It must be said however that I find the album has a rather dark, brooding, melancholically aura over it.
At times the music reminds me a bit of Manowar, but with less bombast over it.  Bathory also immediately springs to mind. Not a bad effort, but I’ll leave it to real fans of the genre to review this artist in the future.

70/100
