Royal Republic from Malmö, Sweden is loud, funky and on the march with their debut album “We Are The Royal”. The band came to life in late 2007 and consists of guitarist/lead singer Adam Grahn, guitarist Hannes Irengård, bass guitarist Jonas Almén and drummer Per Andreasson.
Their debut album called  “We Are The Royal” was recorded at Beach House Studios in Malmö, Sweden, with producer Anders Hallbäck. Although the album was completed in 2009, it was only released to the public in 2010 in Sweden and only now reaches us for the fist time.
The album seems to be a poppy rock/punk compilation, a genre that can be best compared to bands like “the kaiserchiefs” or “Franz Ferdinand”. Now this is definitely nothing new and these guys surely haven’t reinvented the wheel or something, but that’s ok. They themselves don’t take it too seriously and I guess that there is where their success lies.
Good easy listening music brought very well, lots of variation and you can hear that the guys had fun making the album (although it took them long enough to release it). Very good record that everyone can enjoy, not only fans of this genre.
