For a lot of people Mike Tramp always will be the front man of White Lion. With that band, witch he started in New York City in 1983, he had some major success and toured all over the world although the biggest success was in the US. In 1992 White Lion was layed to rest and Mike kicked back with Freak Of Nature. That band gave him the opportunity the concentrate a bit more on Europe. Not that big of a surprise if you know Mike’s from Denmark. Freak Of Nature released 2 great records and toured quite a bit in Europe.  By the time we reached 1995 Freak Of Nature was over and Tramp went on solo. A couple of cd’s were recorded but the impact was very little. Than he tried to revive White Lion. First as Tramp’s White Lion and later on again as White Lion but nobody lost any sleep over that. In 2009 Mike than came out with Mike Tramp & The Rock ‘n’ Roll Circuz witch came by pretty unnoticed. Last year, after the sad news of Ronny James Dio’s passing, Mike recorded with this band ‘Hymn To Ronnie’ witch was available as free download. Today he’s ready to give us the second cd ‘Stand Your Ground’. A nice piece of art that again shows how talented Tramp really is. The album starts out with ‘Don’t Let Them Put It On You’ a nice classic rock ‘n’ roll tune and has a few more gems like that further on. After 50 years Mike’s voice gets better and better. Is this his way back to the road of success? Well, we don’t think so. On this record are a few alright songs but also a lot of fillers. That’s a shame but if you’ll hear ‘Prettiest Girl’ or ‘Wish You Well’ you’ll know what we mean. It’s just to cheesy. We would have loved to hear a bit more balls. Maybe it would not be such a bad idea to do a tour as Freak Of Nature again in Europe. A lot of people would loved to see that one more time and if Mike wants to he could perhaps write a few more Freak Of Nature songs that could light the flame once again. But for now we’ll settle with ‘Stand Your Ground’ because it has it’s moments and as long as there are tracks like ‘Say what You Will’ we’ll be smiling for the rest of the day.
