Coming forth from Montreal, Quebec, October Sky has been around for some time and has been playing music for a decade. It started out as four teenagers with a passion and a common desire to excel in the studio and on stage. The Canadian quartet consists of Karl Raymond (vocals & guitars), Alex Racine (drums), Yanik Rouleau (keyboards), and Andrew Walker (bass).
Their First full length album “Hell Isn’t My Home“ has been around for a quite while now as it was released in 2008. The record features 10 tracks that find their origins in the alternative rock and electro scene. And it is with this record that the band started out to try and break trough and to this day they are still trying.
You have to give these lads credits for that, especially when you know they aren’t signed to a record label. Normally the reason why a band doesn’t get signed is because they aren’t that good. However the thing is that this LP earned them three awards for best provincial rock song, rock CD, and rock music video.
When hearing the album, it does give an idea why. The only way to describe it is “Muse look a like”. And not a very good one to be honest. I will admit that there is a song or 2 that does stand out from the album so yeas they actually could have won an award or so. The rest of the album is time wasted. Little variation, not interesting, dull, lacks balls, power and originality.

50/100
