PJ Bond is a man who spent the better part of the last 15 years in basements, tour vans and in and out of a variety of situations that all seem to begin and end with making and playing music. And yes, folk/acoustic is also music.
That’s right PJ is a folk man. That or the reason that he is constantly in basements or on tour maybe the reason that you probably never heard of him before, at least I haven’t. But to be honest the man is mostly know in the UK (where there are more fans of this genre of music) and around his home base being New Jersey. However the fact that his website/myspace/facebook/…..is fairly poor on info could also be part of his “not so popular/well known” status.
That being said, the man brings forth his new EP containing 7 folk/acoustic tracks. and that actually wraps it up. 7 tracks that in total don’t last over 20 minutes. The tracks themselves have a certain atmosphere when you actually listen to the lyrics, but people who are not into this kind of music will loose interest and feel that every song pretty much sounds the same. Don’t get me wrong its not an album, but more something to put on as background music while sitting in the garden with this lovely weather or when having a party and you like to chat with your friends. Definitely not bad, but certainly nothing special.
70/100
