I’ve got no explanation for it, but whereas bands like Metallica and sometimes even Megadeth were among my favourite metal bands, the other two bands who belong to the so-called big four, Anthrax and Slayer never were my real favourites.  And yet here I’m reviewing the new Anthrax album.

Is it because I’ve grown older, I don’t know, but I must admit that I liked the album, despite it being an album that leans more towards trash metal then speed metal.  Of course the fact that Anthrax have reunited with their original singer/shouter Joey Belladonna.
This album oozes with energy, and this for a band who exists 30 years in 2011. For a non-fan of Anthrax like I am, and also not that into trash metal, this album definitely was a surprise.  It’s raw, and nevertheless I liked it. Either my musical preferences are changing again towards the harder stuff, which I doubt, ore my musical horizon is broadening, so that those subgenres I did not like in the past are now becoming more chewable.

Best tracks I find ‘Fight’em Till You Can’t’, ‘In The End’, and the final track ‘Revolution Screams’.

A nice way to renew acquaintance with this band.
