Label : Metal Blade Records

Release Date : 07/10/2011
Release : CD

It’s been slightly more than a year ago since Charred Walls Of The Damned released it’s first album, and now they’ve released their second.  The line-up of the band hasn’t changed since, so you’ve still got Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens (Judas Priest, Iced Earth) on vocals, Richard Christy (Iced Earth) on drums, Steve DiGiorgio (Death, Testament) on bass and finally Jason Suecof (who wrote and produced songs for Trivium) on guitars.

Probably due to the presence of two band members who played in Iced Earth, this is probably the band you could best compare them to.  But on the other hand they offer more diversity.  Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens once again shows his talent as vocalist here, talent that I like, but that has it’s limits.  I mean you cannot compare him to a singer like Ian Gillan or Ronnie James Dio, who can/could offer both melodical songs, as real rockers.  Tim  is as far as I’m concerned limited to the harder, rockier songs.

A nice album, that shows of the talents of these 4 guys.

80/100
