Madina Lake an American Alternative rock band formed in Chicago, U.S.A. and saw first light during 2005. Founders Nathan and Matthew Leone were first in a band based in Chicago, when they met drummer Dan Torelli and Mateo Camargo who were in a band called Reforma that had relocated to Chicago and both bands shared the same manager and often toured together.
Nathan and Matthew befriended Dan and Mateo, and unhappy with their current situations decided to disband their respective bands, and form Madina Lake. Shawn Currie of The Blank Theory was in the original line up samples for Madina Lake, but left shortly after the band started working on material. They played their first show as Madina Lake on May 21, 2005.
The band’s latest release is noticeably darker than their last record in2009 called “Attics To Eden”, but fans will be happy to hear that the band kept their signature arrangements and catchiness. Another noticeable thing is the impact of the unfortunate assault and subsequent recovery of bassist Matthew Leone last year. But than again that is something to write about.
Not a bad album, but certainly not something that really blew me away. There are a lot of albums in this genre who are a lot better. Don’t get me wrong it’s nice to put on in the stereo, but it’s not good enough to keep in there.

70/100
