Circle II Circle is one of these bands that have been around for quite some time but that haven’t made it to the top just yet. The reason for this is once again very recognisable on this album, entitled Consequence of Power. Despite the strong album title, it lacks strength at some points. It goes without saying that Zak Stevens is so much better than the average metal vocalist. His rather deep voice is the perfect origin for a magnificent and striking sound. Despite all of this, the lack of good song writing talent is too remarkably present on Consequence of Power.
What we get to hear on this album is far from weak, but it’s even further away from being convincing enough to be truly recognised by a vast audience. Not a single song on Consequence of Power seems to have a huge impact on me. The title track might be catchy, though it’s still far from original.
According to me, only die-hard Savatage fans will really appreciate this album.
